About Larry Linamen
Born and raised in Anderson, Indiana, Larry Linamen graduated with honors from Anderson University with majors in Accounting and Business Administration. He holds an MBA and EdD degree from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
Dr. Linamen served 13 years as a faculty member and department head of the business department at Biola University in Los Angeles, California. At Dallas Baptist University, Linamen served in the positions of Dean of the business school, Academic Vice President and Provost. He also held positions as an Owner of Accurate Tax Service, Senior Systems Engineer for Computer Language Research, and Vice President for The Barna Research Group working with clients like Disney, World Vision, and Focus on the Family. Overseas, Dr. Linamen served as a foreign expert to the Bureau of Finance in China for a pilot project at Lanzhou University in free enterprise in 1988. Since that time, he has returned over 30 times to develop sister school agreements, sign memorandums of understanding and led study trips for administrators and students.
In 1987 and 1988, Linamen received the George Washington Medal for outstanding achievement from the Valley Forge Foundation in the area of Economics, with his work on display for two consecutive years at Valley Forge. He was named a member of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and was inducted into the Texas Hall of Fame in 1996. In 1998, Linamen authored the book Guide for the College Bound and, additionally, has written book reviews and other educational articles.
After joining Colorado Christian University in 2001, Linamen served as Vice President for Adult and Graduate Studies, and then for five years served as Provost and Chief Academic Officer. Linamen served as chair of the Education Task Force for Youth for Christ International and on the Board of the Life Dream Cranial Facial Institute during this period.
More recently, Linamen served as President of Greenville College and, while there, worked in leadership roles on the Executive Committee of Board for the Federation for Independent College of Illinois, on the Executive Committee of the St. Louis Independent Athletic Conference, as Vice President of the Board for the Association of Free Methodist Educational Institutions (AFMEI) and on the Board of the Association of Colleges of Illinois (ACI).
In July 2012, Dr. Linamen joined California Baptist University as the Vice President for Global Initiatives to help broaden the global opportunities and diversify the student body. He currently serves on the Board of the Association for Universities of the Asia Pacific, Board of the International Relations Council of Riverside, CA and works closely with the Chinese Olympic Committee in educating world class athletes. He lives with his wife, Kayla, a physician and has two daughters.
